Accounting
Monthly close, reconciliations and financial statements you can make decisions from, delivered on a schedule instead of reconstructed each spring.
Accounting done properly is not data entry. It is the discipline that makes everything else possible: the audit that goes smoothly, the loan application that gets approved, the decision to open a second location that turns out to be right.
Done badly, it is a year of transactions dumped into a file in March, and a set of numbers nobody trusts enough to act on.
What we handle
- Monthly or quarterly close on a fixed calendar, with a stated delivery date
- Bank, credit card, loan and inter-company reconciliations
- Accounts payable and receivable process, including approval workflow
- Financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with commentary that explains the movement
- Chart of accounts design, or repair, so the reporting answers real questions
- Fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Clean-up and catch-up for records that have fallen behind
- QuickBooks Online and Xero set-up, migration and ongoing management
Onboarding
Most clients are running on our process inside a month.
Review
We look at the current state of the books, the systems in use and the reporting you get today. This is where clean-up scope becomes clear.
Design
Chart of accounts, close calendar, approval flow and the reporting pack: built around the decisions you actually make.
Transition
Access, historical clean-up where needed, and a parallel month so nothing falls through the gap.
Run
Close on schedule, reporting delivered on a fixed date, and a monthly conversation about what the numbers are telling you.
If an audit is in your future, say so now
Books kept with an eventual audit in mind cost meaningfully less to audit than books kept without. Documentation, revenue recognition and expense allocation are the usual culprits.
We do not perform audits ourselves. We prepare you for one: closing and reconciling the books, building the schedules and the PBC list, and helping you engage an independent auditor. If you know an audit requirement is coming, tell us early so the books are kept with it in mind.
