Do you work with early-stage companies that hold government contracts?

Yes, and the earlier the better. The decisions you make about chart of accounts and timekeeping in year one determine how difficult Phase II SBIR and cost-type contracts will be later. An hour of structuring now is worth far more than a remediation project when a contracting officer asks to see your system.

Is being local actually an advantage for this work?

For audit preparation and government contract work, genuinely yes. Preaward readiness work, system walkthroughs and supporting an auditor during fieldwork all benefit from someone who can be in the building, and our office on Rosecrans Avenue is next door. It also means we know the local landscape (the business districts, the timelines, the way things actually work here) rather than treating El Segundo as a row in a location page.
